Thirty years ago Chanel Darjean started doing hair, and the work carried her to the runways of New York and London Fashion Week. What she does now is rarer and slower: one woman at a time, in her own room, building rows by hand. She is certified in both of the methods that matter — IBE® Invisible Bead Extensions and Elevate® Mesh Integration — and licensed to work in two states.

Somebody told you to get a topper. You don’t need one.
Elevate® Mesh Integration is not a wig and it is not a weave. A soft, breathable mesh is stitched into the hair that is still there, and everything new goes onto the mesh. Nothing is bonded to a scalp that has already been through enough.
Postpartum. After an illness. After years of the wrong extensions. This is the client Chanel trained for.
Where it starts. Thinning through the crown and along the part, in ordinary salon light.

Caramel, carried the whole way down. Long enough to move, and cut so the ends still look like ends.
The colour was built to sit warm against her skin rather than to photograph well, which is why it still looks right in a kitchen.

No glue. No heat. No tape. That is what invisible bead means, and it is why the method is the one you can put on hair that cannot take another chemical.

Four cities
Her clients get on a plane to see her.
Sacramento is home. Honolulu is the other chair — she holds a Hawaii cosmetologist licence and keeps a separate booking calendar there, so her clients on the island book her the same way her Sacramento clients do. Reno and Las Vegas see her as well. Very few stylists anywhere have clients who will get on a plane.
Lifted, and kept cool. Dark to a soft ash without the brass that usually comes with it.
Warm caramel, worn straight. She left it heavy at the bottom, which is how it holds a line like that all day.

Why Chanel is here
Most extension artists hold one certification. She holds both.
We go looking ourselves, city by city, for the artists we’d send a friend to. Chanel is our Sacramento pick for bead rows and hair loss.
Most extension artists hold one certification, and it is for adding length to healthy hair. Chanel holds two. The second one is for hair that is thinning. It is the harder certification to earn, and it is what lets her take the client who has been told no everywhere else.
Both are named, trademarked methods with a training body behind them. Neither is a style she picked up. They are the reason a woman drives past four salons to sit in her chair.
- IBE® Invisible Bead Extensions A weft sewn onto a row of beads that sits flat to the head. Your own hair carries it, and nothing is bonded to a single strand.
- Elevate® Mesh Integration A fine mesh foundation stitched in where the hair has thinned. The new hair goes onto the mesh, never onto strands that are already fragile.
- Thirty years, two runways New York and London Fashion Week, on somebody else’s clock. A bead row is the opposite of all of that, and she is good at both.

Hand-tied wefts & bead rows
A weft sewn onto a row of beads across the head. The most hair added in the fewest hours, and the flattest against the scalp. Needs enough of your own density to hide the row.
