About Sandie

A life’s work, led by passion.

Sandie’s mastery was earned at the chair, one head at a time. More than thirty years of listening, fitting, blending and refining have given her an artist’s eye for what each client needs. That dedication took her from Hairlocs training to teaching state to state, with work in Chicago, New York and Las Vegas. That journey began at Tangles Salon, a beautiful full-service salon she owned at the time. She created her own no-sew beaded weft method and certification course; stylists have traveled from all over the country to learn from her.

Her passion begins with people. She listens to what a woman wants from her hair and understands how much of herself she may have invested in the answer. The women who cry when she turns the chair around can move Sandie to tears, too. That love comes with responsibility: “Beautiful hair means nothing to me if we’re damaging the natural hair underneath it.” She protects the hair entrusted to her, including saying no to a method she believes is wrong for it.

For thirteen years, Priscilla has worked side by side with Sandie. “The flow we have when we work together is almost like an artist’s dance,” Sandie says. “We know each other’s movements, we’re always thinking ahead, and somehow we just know what the other one needs before a word is even spoken.” They are detailed and creative, and above all they truly care about every person who sits in their chair. Sandie couldn’t imagine Mane of Your Dreams without Priscilla by her side.

  • Her own human-hair line Her methods, her choice of hair. Sandie works with her own line of 100% human hair across extensions, toppers, wigs and custom hair replacement.
  • A standard she stands behind No glue or tape in her extension and hair replacement work. The condition of the natural hair guides every decision.
  • An athlete’s discipline Thirteen bodybuilding competitions in three years. A top-five finish in every one. Sandie brings the same appetite for mastery to life beyond the salon.
  • Seen on screen Featured on LA Ink: Kim Saigh tattooed her comb and scissors, and the show loved her so much it brought its cameras to Tangles for her stylists to see the unveiling. Her I-tip work starred on Split Ends, and The Daily News devoted a full article to her extension work.

The work

The transformation is personal.

Mane of Your Dreams is a private studio built around bespoke care. Sandie and Priscilla often work together on one client, choosing the hair, refining the fit and shaping the finish around her. Every detail serves the same transformation: how she looks, and how she feels about herself.

“I’ve had women cry, I’ve cried with them, and sometimes they just sit there touching their hair because they can’t believe the woman looking back at them is really them.”

The install

The no-sew beaded weft, by Sandie.

Sandie’s no-sew beaded weft uses a small section of the client’s own hair to hold each bead, and the bead to hold the weft. No sewing, glue or tape. The principle behind it is the one that guides her practice: respect the natural hair underneath.

Priscilla came to Sandie straight out of cosmetology school 13 years ago, and over the years, she has grown into an incredible stylist all her own. Sandie trained her in every method she does, from extensions and hair replacement to color, and Priscilla has taken that knowledge and made it her own. She’s thoughtful, incredibly detailed, always one step ahead, and has built a loyal clientele who truly trust her. After so many years working side by side, Priscilla is more than a part of Mane of Your Dreams—she’s an important part of its heart. “Somewhere along the way, we became family,” Sandie says. “What we’ve built together goes so much deeper than hair, and I’m so grateful for the bond we share.”

Custom human-hair wigs

Made for the woman wearing it.

Women with thinning hair have trusted Sandie for decades with the hair they live in. Her custom wigs are the most personal work she does: 100% human hair with a full lace front, built to the measurements she takes at your consultation, with straps or combs added the way you prefer.

She shows you how to put it on, how to care for it, and how to make it part of your daily life, so you leave her studio feeling like yourself again.

Before, during & after

In Sandie’s care, you’re family.

From the first conversation, Sandie wants you to feel heard, understood and completely at ease. She explains each choice and each step as she works. The relationship is personal: once you are her client, you are cared for like family.

Every detail, all the way through.

Her care reaches into the everyday. Shampoo, conditioner, blow-drying and the right heat setting: she teaches you how to look after your hair at home, so you leave knowing what to do.

Every install includes a blending cut and a style, straight or curly as you prefer. Regular maintenance brings you back into the hands that know your hair. The transformation is cared for over time.
