From just outside Cork City to a chair in Union Square, Shane Markham-Law has spent eighteen years learning to make hair you can live in. Great Lengths extensions, damage free colour, and a welcome that never asks what sort of hair you arrived with. Thin, fine, thinning, damaged — whatever it is and whoever you are, you are meant to be here.

Caramel drawn through the mid-lengths over a dark natural base, then cut so the whole length falls in one line.
Colour and extensions in one appointment, by one pair of hands.
The part you don't usually see.
A bond row, lifted open. Keratin tips laid in a line, evenly spaced, and set back far enough from the parting that nothing shows when the hair goes up.
K-tips are individual strands, bonded one at a time. No weft, no row to hide. That is why ponytails work, and why it is the longest appointment you will sit for.
Almost nobody posts this photograph. Shane leads with it.
Deep brunette, carried to a blunt line. Enough weight left at the ends that the whole thing reads as one length.
Bronde, with the natural root left exactly where it was. It is why the colour still looks right in month four.
Why Shane has the San Francisco seat
A chair made for everyone.
We go looking ourselves, city by city, for the artists we would send a friend to. San Francisco took one visit, and we chose Shane for the work and for the welcome that comes with it.
The Bay made him a Best of the Bay finalist this year. That is not why he has the seat. This is, in his own words: he strives to make you feel comfortable from the minute you get in the door, and he caters to anyone that wants to feel their best by expressing themselves via their hair for lack of length or density. Or even damage free coloring.
So the chair is all inclusive, and gender neutral when it comes to types of hair. Every hair type, every person, and no assumption about who extensions or colour are meant for. Come with whatever you have. You will not be the first person to sit down with it.
He works in Great Lengths, and he has the colour to match it. The tone gets matched by the same eyes that do the install, in the same chair, on the same afternoon. And the colour he asked us to name is the damage free kind.
Eighteen years in, and comfort is still the first thing he talks about. You hear it in how long he listens before he touches anything, and you feel it in how unhurried the chair is once you are in it.

Individual strands bonded to your own hair, in Great Lengths. Plan on most of a day in the chair.

It starts with an extension consultation. He looks at your hair properly, tells you which method suits it, what it costs to put in and what it costs to keep. Nothing goes in that day. You leave knowing the plan and the number.
Come with whatever you have. Hair that has been through something, or colour you want done without the damage. You will not be the first person to sit down with it.
