The Beverly Hills House of Slavic Hair

Hair by Violet

307 N Robertson Blvd · Beverly Hills, since 2018

A boutique on Robertson that has done one thing since 2018: Slavic hair, put in so it moves like your own. In 2024 the house was rebuilt top to bottom, the room by Kari Whitman, the menu widened past extensions to colour and cuts, and the standard raised with it. It is the rare salon that carries its own hair line, so what goes in was chosen by the people putting it in.

The work

From the floor.

All of it done in the house on Robertson, and photographed there.

Long dark brunette hair, waved, from behind

“Great hair begins with great people.”

Hair by Violet

Dark brunette, worn long. Length added by the house and waved once. Not a seam in it.

That is the register here: hair that reads as yours from across the room, and from behind.

The install

Where the standard lives.

This is the part nobody photographs, and the house does. A weft laid in against dark hair, a row so flat it vanishes the moment the hair falls back over it.

It is the same install from every chair, because every stylist here learned it the same way. That is what a house standard means, and this is what it looks like up close.

Everything else on this page started here.

House tape-in wefts beside the finished long brunette hair

The hair, then the hair. A swatch of the house tape-ins beside what they become: the same colour and the same wave, now on a head.

Dark hair with a silver money piece, worn down

Dark, with a silver money piece. Colour and extensions in one sitting, and the smile that comes out of the chair with them.

The house

The room, and what leaves it.

Kari Whitman’s 2024 rebuild, and two heads of house hair on their way out the door.

Why Hair by Violet is here

Here, the standard is the name.

We go looking ourselves, city by city, for the artists we'd send a friend to. Hair by Violet is our Beverly Hills pick for Slavic hair, whichever chair you land in.

Most salons sell you a stylist. This one sells you a standard. Every artist on the floor came from a leading salon in Europe or the States and was trained into one house method, extensions and colour alike, so the work reads the same from any chair. They put the standard on the door instead of a name. On purpose.

The hair is theirs too. Hair by Violet carries its own line of Slavic and virgin hair, sold in the salon and online, which means the strands going into your head were chosen by the people putting them there. Fewer hands between the source and the chair, and better hair at the end of it.

Then there is the room. Rebuilt in 2024 by the designer Kari Whitman, it feels like a Beverly Hills apartment with better lighting. Velvet seats, and a whole wall of hair. Colour and cuts arrived the same year. Extensions stayed the core. A nail specialist works in-house, so the whole afternoon happens under one roof.

  • One standard Every stylist is trained into the same house method. You book the salon, not the lottery.
  • Their own hair Slavic and virgin hair, sourced by the house and sold under its name, in the chair and online.
  • The room A 2024 rebuild by Kari Whitman. Velvet seats and a wall of wigs, on Robertson.
  • The whole afternoon From colour to nails to the occasion blow-out, all in one place.

What the house works in

Every method. Their own hair in all of them.

Six ways in, and the house carries the hair for each: I-tips, K-tips, hand-tied wefts, tape-ins, clip-ins and full human-hair wigs. Slavic and virgin hair, sold in the salon and online, so the consultation ends with the hair already in the building.

K-tips & bonds

A row of keratin-tipped strands bonded at the roots

Individual strands bonded to your hair. There's no row to hide, so ponytails and updos are easy. The house installs its own Slavic K-tips, priced by the strand. Plan on most of a day in the chair.

Best for
Updos, flexibility
Wear
3–4 months

Tape-ins

Tape-in wefts sandwiching a section of hair

Pre-taped wefts sandwiched around your own hair. Fastest to apply and usually the cheapest way in. They show more in very fine hair and need re-taping regularly.

Best for
Medium hair, first-timers
Move-up
Every 6–8 weeks

Hand-tied wefts

A hand-tied weft sewn onto a bead row

A weft sewn onto a row of beads across the head. The most hair added in the fewest hours, and the flattest against the scalp. Needs enough of your own density to hide the row.

Best for
Volume, thick hair
Move-up
Every 6–8 weeks

Every photograph on this page came off the house's own pages and feed, shot on the floor between clients. It is the most current record of the work: new colour, fresh installs, hair four months on.

If you want to know what you'll walk out with, that is the place to look before you book.

Start with the consultation.

Everything starts with an extension consultation. Density, length, method, and what it will cost you to keep it, all before anything goes in. Book that one first and they'll take it from there.
